THE BILL BRINSER PAK SCHOLARSHIP

The William K. Brinser Jr. Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist children and grandchildren of industry employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Scholarship

Applicants to the Bill Brinser Pak Scholarship must:

Be dependent children* or grandchildren**, age 25 and under, of full-time Cameron Ashely Building Products employees who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date***.

*Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
**Grandchildren are children of children and do not need to be dependents of employees.
***Employees and member company must be in good standing as of the application deadline date.

Or:

Be dependent children* or grandchildren**, age 25 and under, of employees who have one year of employment with a National Insulation Contractors Exchange (NICE) member company application deadline date***.

*Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
**Grandchildren are children of children and do not need to be dependents of employees.
***Employees and member company must be in good standing as of the application deadline date.

And:

  • Have a GPA of at least a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Be high school seniors, high school graduates, or current college undergraduates.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college or vocational-technical/trade school for the entire upcoming academic year*.
*Certification programs must be through an accredited institution and must run on a standard academic semester calendar. Certification programs must be a minimum of one semester/term in length and recipients must be enrolled at the time awards are disbursed in August.

AWARDS

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award of $5,000. Up to two awards will be granted each year. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study, and continuation of the program by the William K. Brinser Jr. Foundation.

Awards are for qualified education-related expenses only (tuition, fees, books, and required supplies/equipment). Room and board are not eligible. Awards amounts may be adjusted if the award exceeds the cost of qualified education-related expenses. Awards are sent to recipients, made payable to the college or institution. Awards are for undergraduate study only. Note that per IRS Rev. Proc. 76-47, the employment eligibility requirement does not apply to previous recipients.

Deadline to Apply

The scholarship application will open on February 18, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. CST and close at 3:00 p.m. CST on March 25, 2025.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in May.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the William K. Brinser Jr. Foundation. Payment is made in August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected based on:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of the William K. Brinser Jr. Foundation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
